With Porsche DNA, the Cayenne is easily the best-handling SUV on the market. Now in its third generation, the Cayenne has had a facelift to keep things fresh, with new headlights and a few tweaks here and there – and it’s still such a good-looking SUV, from the sleek front end to the practical rear end.
The Porsche Cayenne GTS sits just below the fire-breathing Turbo and shares its 4.0-litre twin turbo V8, which produces 493bhp and 660Nm of torque. This is good enough for a 4.4-second sprint to 62mph and a 171mph top speed.
Being a GTS model, it comes with a huge number of options lumped in for less than it would cost to add them separately. So you have the Sport Design Kit, which adds some visual menace, tinted LED headlights and tail lights, along with Porsche’s Active Suspension Management system (PASM) with a bespoke setup for the GTS.
21-inch RS Spyder wheels and red-painted brake callipers are standard. The GTS rides 20mm lower than the regular Cayenne S on its standard steel springs or 30mm lower on the optional air suspension. As with Porsche these days, the GTS represents the best value in the range and is undoubtedly quick without being Turbo-fast.
