Since the 1950s, the SL has been part of the Mercedes line-up, offering the pinnacle of convertible style, performance, and handling from the three-pointed star.
In 2022, we got a new SL, which certainly isn’t letting anyone down! The styling is similar to the outgoing AMG GT, with a low nose, huge slatted grille, and sleek LED headlights. The body is a bit longer to accommodate the rear seats, making the new SL practical. One significant change for this generation is the fabric roof, which is no longer folded metal, lowering its weight and centre of gravity.
The SL55 is powered by the incredible 4.0-litre twin turbo V8, producing 469bhp and 700Nm of torque, providing enough performance to thrill or just cruise in comfort, enjoying the V8 sounds. The interior of the SL55 takes everything firmly into the future with a look like the new S-Class, featuring a massive centre console infotainment screen operating most of the controls and a sleek, clutter-free dashboard with the best materials possible.
The steering wheel is the latest AMG offering, and the seats are supremely supportive and comfortable.
