The Discovery has been a staple of the Land Rover range since it came out in 1990. The first and second generations used the same boxy style that won a loyal following and it was a truly fantastic car to own and drive.
But now Land Rover has pushed the Discovery well and truly into the new Millennium with the third-generation model.
Adopting the family look seen on the Freelander-replacing Discovery Sport, the new Discovery has a familiar face but is much larger and seats 7 with ease, and is extremely capable off-road. It’s also around 400kg lighter than the old model which helps with handling, economy and performance.
This new D350 Dynamic HSE model is frugal yet powerful with 345bhp and 700Nm from the new Ingenium 3.0 litre straight-six turbo diesel engine and is packed with standard kit, like 20-inch alloy wheels, black exterior pack, Meridian sound system, panoramic roof and fresh for 2021 the new PiviPro infotainment system with an 11.4-inch touchscreen in the dash along with the 12.3-inch screen for the dials ahead of the driver.
