Say hello to the most complete performance vehicle ever made – the Defender Octa!
We all know and love the Land Rover Defender and the 110 V8 was always really popular here at BOTB. But Land Rover wanted to do more. Way more.
So to start with, out goes the old supercharged V8 and in comes the new 4.4 litre twin turbo V8 from the Range Rover Sport SV, complete with 626bhp and 750Nm of torque – in a Defender! That means 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds, in a massive off-road SUV!
In order to contain all that power and allow the Octa to not fire itself into the bushes on every corner, it also borrows the super clever 6D suspension system from the SV which gives incredible control over roll, pitch, wheel travel, compression and rebound. This means the Octa is able to handle like a Baja racer on the rough stuff, yet still embarrass hot hatches and sports cars alike on the road.
Visually the Defender Octa Edition One gets wider arches to house the custom 20-inch alloy wheels with Octa-specific mixed-use tyres, forged carbon trim all over the body, Brembo brakes, an active exhaust for a sound unlike any Defender before and there are even bespoke sports seats with forged carbon backs inside.
