How To Play

BOTB is based in south-west London. Our head Office address is 2 Plato Place, 72-74 St Dionis Road, London SW6 4TU. We used to be in 26 different airports and shopping centres, but we have now moved solely online at www.botb.com. From time to time, you can also find us at big motoring events such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed!

BOTB is the longest-running competition website in the UK. Established in 1999, we have given away £64 million in prizes to thousands of winners. There are guaranteed winners every week in the Dream Car Competition and our other competitions.

For the Dream Car Competition, simply add tickets to your basket for the prizes you'd like to win, play Spot the Ball and then proceed to checkout. For further information, watch our How to Play video.

For the Midweek Lifestyle Competition, add tickets for the prizes you'd like to win and answer the skilled multiple choice question. Your answer applies to all tickets in that order. Good luck!

At the end of the Dream Car Competition, the same 'Spot the Ball' picture you used to choose your coordinates is shown to a judging panel comprised of professional sporting experts. In the presence of an independent lawyer they mark where they think, in their professional opinion, the centre of the ball should be. 

The winner of the car is simply the person who is closest to the judged position. They will receive the car corresponding to their winning ticket and other entrants will win Dream Car Competition Credit if they are located in zones 1-5. 

For the Midweek Lifestyle Competition, the winner is drawn from all correct entries by PromoVeritas, the UK's leading independent promotional verification service. They will receive the prize corresponding to their winning ticket. 

You can buy up to 75 tickets for the Dream Car Competition each week and up to 300 tickets for our other competitions. Read more in our terms and conditions.

Tickets currently range from 50p to £5.60, depending on the car or prize you’re playing for. We regularly offer even cheaper tickets – keep an eye out for discounts and special offers!

In the Dream Car Competition there can only be one car winner. If a case arises where two or more players are equally close to the judges position, the winner will be determined by calculating the next closest entry of the players in question. The person with the closest second ticket is then the outright winner. If any player in this equidistant scenario has only one ticket, all players that qualify will participate in another Spot the Ball competition online to determine the outright winner.

All equidistant players who do not win outright, will receive £1,000 in cash. Please be sure to read the full terms and conditions.

Game Credit is a virtual currency you can earn or win in various ways. For instance, you can win Game Credit by entering one of our regular social media competitions, referring a friend, or placing tickets in zones 1-5 on the Dream Car Competition Spot the Ball photo.

You can enter our competitions for free with enough Game Credit or use it for part payment. It is automatically deducted from your account at checkout with any qualifying purchase.

Please note: Game Credit cannot be withdrawn as cash. It expires after a specified period – check your Account for details.

We are legally obliged to use a game of skill to determine the winner of our competitions - not simply a lottery or raffle. We use 'Spot the Ball' as it's widely recognised, fun and an easy way to enter. You will be shown a sporting photograph that does not contain a ball.  

You must use your skill and judgement to decide where you think the centre of the ball should be. Your chosen points will be recorded as (x,y) coordinates, stored in our database and saved in your account.

There's a Dream Car Competition winner every week. Competitions run from midnight until midnight (UK time*), Monday to Sunday, 52 weeks a year. Judging takes place on a Monday morning and the winner will usually be surprised in person by BOTB on Tuesday.

Results will be announced to all entrants once the car winner has been notified. Competition results and notification of Game Credit won will be posted on our website and you will also receive notification via email. You can log in to your Account to check the results, see how close you were and to see how much Game Credit you have won .

There's a MidweekLifestyle Competition winner every week. Competitions run from midnight until midnight (UK time*), Thursday to Wednesday, 52 weeks a year. The independent draw takes place on a Thursday morning and the winner will usually be surprised with the news on the same day, if not Friday.

Results will be announced to all entrants once the winner has been notified. Competition results will be posted on our website and you will also receive notification via email. You can log in to your Account to check the results.

The basis of the game must categorically be the skill of an entrant versus the skill of professionals - not versus the chance that the original spot on the football picture is picked. It is a subtle but important legal definition by which we are bound to operate.  

The panel of judges is formed of experienced professionals on a rotating basis, including both referees and players, who each offer their best opinion.

Using a panel of judges ensures that nobody can ever know the original position of the ball - resulting in a process that is fair, transparent, audited and honest.

We will deliver your car or other prize anywhere in the world, free of charge. All cars are delivered with UK VAT paid. There may, however, be further import/registration or luxury goods duties in certain countries which in general we do not pay for.

In some cases it may be preferable to take the cash alternative and then buy the equivalent car in your country - which we we can of course assist with. See terms and conditions for full details on deliveries, taxes and the cash alternative options.

Yes! Depending on the value of the car won, BOTB will pay up to £1,500 towards insurance costs and up to £400 for servicing. See terms and conditions for full details.
