R34… in a downpour!

Ronan O’Dornan is a huge car fan and recently restored a classic Opel Kadett. Sadly just 6 days later it was written off in an accident, so for the past year or so Ronan has been driving around in his girlfriend’s car…until now that is! With the help of his brother, Christian tracked freelance photographer Ronan down to the Met College in Belfast where he was working and dragged him away from his photoshoot to present him with his new toy – the iconic Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R!

Ronan was flabbergasted, delighted, lost for words and in disbelief all at the same time - “Is that what I think it is?” were his first words, followed by “this is crazy…wow, ridiculous!” And the emotions went even more haywire when Christian revealed £20,000 cash in the boot as well! Enjoy spending it Ronan…and huge congratulations!

Ronan wins BOTB R34 Nissan GT-R

Feb 2020

RONAN O'Dornan has been given the surprise of his life after winning an iconic Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R worth £60,000, and he also picked up £20,000 in cash, thanks to dream car competition BOTB.

The Ballymena native was left stunned as presenter Christian Williams and the BOTB team delivered his prize outside Belfast Met College where he was working as a freelance photographer.

"I never in a million years thought I'd bump into you. I don't know what to say it's crazy," he said.

Ronan has been driving his girlfriend's car for a while after his own restored Opel Kadett was involved in a crash.

"I'm, in disbelief. It's an iconic car that you don't see on the road hardly ever. It's not something I thought I would ever own. There's a load of new cars out, but I've always been a fan of vintage cars. The Kadett was a normal man's vintage car, but this is dream material." he added.

The Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R, or Godzilla as it's known, was produced from 1999-2002 and is powered by the legendary 2.6-litre twin-turbo, straight six RB26DETT engine that produced 276bhp. These engines are highly tunable with some GT-Rs running 1,000bhp and more with power being sent to all four wheels via a clever ATTESA E-TS Pro system.

Christian, from BOTB, said: "Ronan is a true fan of vintage and iconic cars and it was great to be able to surprise him with a motor that not only he needs but that he is also passionate about."

You can play online at BOTB.com where you can enter and win your dream car from as little as 85p.

TESTIMONIAL

Played for a while and ended up winning a classic Nissan Skyline R34 GTR + £20k! Rather than source a rough GTR in the UK (of which only two were for sale at the time), we looked to import a car through TorqueGT from Japan. BOTB were super helpful throughout the whole experience - Christian, Will and the staff have been excellent. Thanks so much guys for doing what you do and doing it with a smile.

I don't know why so many people are so quick to say it's a scam - it's as legit as it comes. Perhaps it's just anger at not being the winner but so many winners have given the advice to just keep playing. After all if a nobody, self-employed man from Co. Antrim can win it then anyone can! Thanks again guys for a life changing event. I'll never forget it!
