He chose Velar…and Velar won!

Adam Williams has loved this stunning car since it was featured on the Top Gear TV show…and in his words: “I’ve always said it’s the first thing I’d buy if I won the lottery!” Well Adam, you don’t need to worry about that anymore! Estate agent Adam was still in his pyjamas when Christian knocked on his door early this morning to show him his new pride and joy, worth over £72k.

Adam’s wife Melissa was in on the surprise and hadn’t slept a wink…no doubt the excitement of it all will result in not much sleep tonight either – huge congratulations to you both!

£73,000 surprise is spot-on for winner

Jun 2018

An estate agent is riding in style, after winning a £73,000 car in an online competition.

Adam Williams of Newport got a surprise when he opened the door to find Christian Williams and a Range Rover Velar last week, after playing the BOTB 'spot the ball' game online.

Christian, from BOTB, handed over the keys to the shocked 38 year old. Adam's wife Melissa helped set up the surprise.

Adam who has only played BOTB a handful of times, was getting ready for a day at the beach on his day off when the surprise was sprung.

He said: "I'm honestly lost for words. The Velar is my absolute dream car. I've always said if I won the lottery this is the car I'd buy.

"When I first heard the doorbell ring I thought it must be a parcel delivery but as soon as I saw Christian's BOTB gilet through the door I couldn't believe it."

"I first saw the Velar on Top Gear and fell in love with it but I honestly didn't think I'd get the chance to own one."

"I didn't sleep very well last night and I'm wondering if I'm still asleep. This is an absolute dream come true."

BOTB was founded by William Hindmarch in 1999 and has handed over the keys to more than £22m worth of supercars.

Christian, who delivered the good news, said it had been one of the earliest surprises he had been involved with.

"We knew we had to try and catch Adam before he headed for a day at the coast."

"Normally no-one likes an early start, but seeing Adam's face made the morning alarm call more than worthwhile," he said "I have one of the best jobs in the world - even at that time of the day!"
