That's The Spirit!

Christian was in Plymouth this week to surprise this week's Dream Car winner, Oskar Cieslewicz with a Mazda RX-7 Spirt R!

Tyre-Fitter Oskar was busy at work in his garage when Christian arrived to give him the amazing news!

As a Japanese car fan, Oskar just couldn't believe his eyes! "This is like the dream of dreams! The engine probably sounds amazing!" he exclaimed. And he soon realised he was right as he sat inside his new £65,000 toy and gave that famous engine a rev!

Massive congrats Oskar - we wonder if he'll take this Japanese icon or opt for the cash alternative?!

Plymouth man wins Mazda RX-7 Spirit R worth £65k while at work

Jun 2022

A lover of Japanese cars from Plymouth was left stunned after scooping a modern classic thanks to leading online competitions company BOTB. Lucky Oskar Cieslewicz was at work when BOTB’s Christian Williams turned up to tell him he was this week’s Dream Car Competition winner and the owner of a £65,000 Mazda RX-7 Spirit R.

BOTB, which stands for Best of the Best, first opened at Heathrow Airport in 1999, with Daveeda Shaheen scooping the first prize. It clocked up its 500th winner in 2019 and many winners continue to play, convinced they have the Midas touch. Based in Fulham, BOTB has had winners all across the globe with many different reactions - and Oskar is the latest winner.

Oskar was surprised with the Mazda in Martin Street Car Park in Stonehouse, near to his work. “No way,” he said.

“I can’t believe it, these things just don’t happen in real life. It’s like a dream of dreams!” Tyre-fitter Oskar, who still lives at home with his mum, said he’s a big fan of Japanese cars.

“I just love Japanese cars,” he explained. “I was planning to buy an MR2 because they’re cheaper but when I saw this on BOTB, I thought ‘I’ve got to try my luck’. I can’t believe it, I don’t know what to say.”

Oskar was quick to sit in his new car and give the famous engine a rev. “It sounds amazing,” he laughed. The model Oskar won is one of just 1,500 that Mazda made - it boasts 276bhp under the bonnet with a 1.3ltr 315 Torque engine.

BOTB hands over the keys to a stunning dream car each week as well as a lifestyle prize. Lifestyle winners have bagged a quad bike, a holiday to the Arctic and £15,000 in cash in recent months.

The company, listed on the stock market, was founded by William Hindmarch in 1999 and has given away more than £47m worth of cars so far. BOTB presenter Christian Williams said: “A huge congratulations to Oskar, what a fantastic prize!”
