We decided to mix things up this week by surprising our Dream Car winner at night time! Already in his jogging pants, an unsuspecting Mark Downton from Hitchin was relaxing in front of the TV when a very cold Christian knocked on the door. "OH MY GOD – NO WAY!" exclaimed Mark, breaking into a huge smile when he realised he'd won his dream car – a £65,000 Alpina B3 Touring! Mark always plays for the B3 as it's both "practical and exclusive", describing it as the ultimate car for the future!
His wife Lorna was in on the surprise but didn't know that Mark had also won £20,000 cash, so she was just as shocked as her husband when Christian revealed the briefcase of notes in the boot! As it’s National Hugging Day today there were extra hugs all round… and Mark is planning on spreading that happiness further as his first drive will be to see "everyone he’s ever met!" – huge congrats Mark!

A truly amazing experience from start to finish. As with most people who play BOTB, I love cars and each week enjoyed the fantasy of how would I spec the car should I win and wondering if it was me the weeks I played. Well, one week in January it was!
On a dark and cold evening, there was a knock at the door which I thought was a new neighbour asking me about which bin he needed to put out. When I opened it, I was shocked to say the least - stood there was Christian. I immediately recognised his beaming smile from the videos and all the other winners who have stood with the same disbelief in their doorways or work place. It was a moment I will never forget. Christian and the BOTB team had sourced a vehicle to show me which stood gleaming slightly down the road under a very effective lighting rig. I still remember walking towards it! Another surprise also came when Christian walked us to the back of the car and on opening the boot there was £20k cash - it was a truly magical experience.
All the cynicism surrounding BOTB is completed nonsense. People do win this, I am one of the many that have won and can testify to the wonderful and amazing experience it is to win a car of your dreams. I think the lengths Will (the founder of BOTB) and the BOTB team have gone to in order to show authenticity demonstrates the openness of the winning process. I smile every time I see the car on the driveway and will treasure the memories of winning this for the rest of my life. Thanks to all the team for making dreams come true.
