Watch Swadlincote physio's priceless reaction as he wins £7k Rolex
Jun 2021
What do Tom Hardy and a physiotherapist from Swadlincote have in common?
After the latter bought a 45p ticket for an online prize draw, he now also owns a Rolex Submariner Date worth more than £7,000.
Thomas Haynes has no excuse to be late anymore after scooping the wrist candy in the BOTB (Best of the Best) draw.
Thomas was at work when BOTB's Christian Williams called to tell him that he was this week's winner and the proud owner of the classic Rolex.
When he was told the news, he said: "This is crazy. I can't believe it! Who doesn’t want a Rolex?
"I'm a little bit of a watch collector and I've got a few at home, but none that are as expensive or iconic as the Rolex.
"I thought to myself, 'if I'm going to play for a watch, it might as well be a prestigious one'." The Rolex Submariner Date is worn by the likes of Tom Hardy, Jack Black, Russel Wilson and more top celebs.
Thomas won it in the BOTB Luxury Lifestyle draw. He had to answer a "skilled competition question" to be considered for the prize.
Recent winners have also won a quad bike, a holiday to Disney World and £15,000 cash.
As well as the lifestyle prizes, BOTB also hands over the keys to two cars each week.
The PLC was founded by William Hindmarch in 1999 and has given away more than £42m worth of cars so far.
Christian, who surprises the BOTB winners each week, said: "What a fantastic prize Thomas has played for.
"As he says, who doesn't want to own a Rolex? And the Submariner Date is a classic. Massive congratulations again."
