10 Best And Worst Fast and Furious Cars, Revealed

best and worst cars fast and furious films

From humble street-racing beginnings to a global blockbusting-phenomenon, the Fast and Furious franchise has changed a lot since the early 2000s.

Yet, amidst so much change, one thing’s stayed the same – you can bet you’ll see high-octane thrills in expensive cars no matter which instalment you stick on.

Practically characters in their own right, lots of stellar cars have graced the silver screen. But, I’d be lying if I said that the franchise has nailed it every time.

I’ve picked out the best and worst cars to feature in the Fast and Furious franchise.

5 Best Fast and Furious Cars

1. Dodge Charger R/T

dom's car from fast and furious

Driver: Dom  | Film: The Fast and The Furious, Fast & Furious, Fast Five, Furious 7, F9, Fast X

The 1970 Dodge Charger R/T is the rockstar of the Fast and Furious movies, much like the Mini Cooper is one of the show-stealing cars in the Italian Job.

Getting cooler with every film and spec upgrade, the one thing that never changed is that killer V8 engine.

The Charger doesn’t just look awesome – it’s got the performance to back it up.

2.  Toyota Supra MK IV

brian's car from fast and furious

Driver: Brian | Film: The Fast And The Furious & 2 Fast 2 Furious

If the Dodge Charger is Dom Toreto’s ride-or-die, the Toyota Supra is Brian O’Connor’s.

Featuring a 2JZ engine, modified appearance and slick orange paint, it’s a firm fan-favourite, especially given its link to the late Paul Walker.

Toyota gave the Supra a cool update in 2020, and there’s even rumours of a new generation coming in 2025.

3. Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R

brian's car from 2 fast 2 furious

Driver: Brian | Film: 2 Fast 2 Furious & Fast and Furious 4

There’s a killer scene in the second film where Brian O’Conner is racing through Miami towards a bridge and manages to go fast enough to jump to the other side.

Compared to the newer films, this action sequence is child’s play, but that doesn’t take away from just how cool the Nissan Skyline R34 looked flying through the air.

One of the R34 Skylines Paul Walker drove in Fast and Furious 4 actually sold for $1.3 million at auction. Not bad.

4. Honda S2000

suki's car from fast and furious

Driver: Suki | Film: 2 Fast 2 Furious

Between its Supras and Skylines, no film in the franchise can outdo the lineup for 2 Fast 2 Furious in my humble opinion.

It’s been two decades since it came out, and Suki’s bright pink Honda S2000 is still my dream car. I just hope it makes a return in the next film.

5. Gurkha LAPV

luke hobbe's car from fast and furious

Driver: Luke Hobbs | Film: Fast Five

There’s not many cars that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson could fit in, so it makes perfect sense that drives a beastly military car, the Gurkha LAPV.

Designed to withstand gunfire and explosives, it’s practically The Rock in automotive form.

And a big, boxy car is always welcome to balance out the many supercars in the franchise.

5 Worst Fast and Furious Cars

1. BMW M5 (Replica)

worst cars from fast and furious

Driver: Dom’s Entire Crew | Film: Fast and Furious

The "M5" in the fourth instalment was a total letdown.

They barely tried to make the replica look authentic – just two exhausts at the back and random side vents that don't belong on an E39 M5. No M5 body kit either! Total letdown.

2. Chrysler Town and Country: Furious 7

Driver: Brian | Film: Fast & Furious 7

Tell us Brian’s settled down, without telling us Brian’s settled down.

We get the idea, Brian’s given up street racing but – be honest – can you really see him in a Chrysler minivan?

The franchise dropped the ball a little with this match.

3. Volkswagen Touran

twinkie's car from fast and furious

Driver: Twinkie | Film: The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift

To this day, Twinkie’s VW still has to be one of the ugliest cars I’ve ever seen. Admittedly, that’s the point – but I still can’t forgive The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift film for giving us the Hulk Mobile.

4. Chevrolet Caprice

chevrolet from fast and furious

Driver: Tej Parker | Film: Furious 7

Furious 7 was pretty poor for car selection across the board (that’s right Chrysler, I’m still looking at you), but this 1987 Caprice really scraped the barrel.

Yes, it looks fairly cool, but pop the hood and you’re looking at a relic – a weak V6 and 140 hp.

60 mph in 11 seconds? No thank you.

5. Flip Car

flip car from fast and furious

Driver: Owen Shaw | Film: Fast & Furious 6

Controversial opinion: Dom’s Flip Car in the sixth film was the start of a major shift for the franchise. Out with the street racing culture, in with the blockbuster action.

A car that’s sole purpose is to flip over other cars?

Sounds like an episode of Robot Wars, if you ask me.
