BMW really has got an SUV for everyone these days, from small to huge, petrol, diesel and EV, the choice is there. So for the people who want a smaller, stylish SUV-coupe we have the new X2 and if you want EV power as we have here – the iX2.
This is the entry level iX2, with the smaller battery of 65kWh and FWD, but that just means it’s lighter and super efficient with a 283 mile range. There’s over 200bhp as well, so whereas performance may not set the world on fire, it’s more than enough for daily use and being electric the power is seamless and always feels faster than the numbers suggest.
The styling is certainly the iX2’s biggest selling point though – a mean, aggressive front end shows that it means business, while the coupe-like sloping roofline adds an element of sportiness and sleek style to the side profile. The rear is really interesting too, with angular tail lights and a neat ducktail spoiler. 19-inch alloy wheels set the stance perfectly too.
The interior, like all new BMWs is an absolute masterpiece with a sleek widescreen display running their excellent iDrive8 infotainment system, with supportive and stylish seats and a floating armrest console like that in the big iX model.
