Win a Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0
Win a Porsche! The incredible Porsche 718 Cayman GTS could be yours next week!
When Porsche bowed to increasing environmental pressures in 2016 and installed a new flat-4 cylinder turbocharged engine in the 718 Cayman, many Porsche purists were up in arms – not least because the soundtrack the 4-pot motors provided just wasn’t very nice or exciting.
Then the new Cayman GT4 came out with a 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six motor, and the purists were happy – but they were (and still are) incredibly hard to get hold of.
So Porsche listened and replaced the 2.5-litre flat-four turbo in the Cayman GTS with a detuned version of that GT4 engine, producing 395bhp and the same 420Nm of torque.
Performance is improved slightly, the price is a bit higher, and it drinks a bit more fuel, but finally, you can order a new Cayman and have a sweet flat-six singing away behind your head in one of the best mid-engined chassis Porsche has ever made. Rejoice!
