When a plug-in Hybrid SUV has specs like these, who needs an EV?
The new MG HS is a super stylish family SUV, with a sleek front end, tapering roofline, 19-inch alloy wheels and LED headlights. The interior is stylish and spacious too, with the dash housing a widescreen display for driver and infotainment, comfy supportive seats, loads of rear legroom and a massive boot. Being Trophy spec every option is included too.
But the real party piece of the MG HS PHEV is the plug-in Hybrid powertrain. Mating a 1.5 litre turbocharged engine to an electric motor to produce 303bhp and 432Nm of torque. There’s a decent 24.7kWh battery too, which means that the HS can travel 75 miles on EV power alone – that’s longer than most daily journeys! But when you do need a longer trip, you’ve got that petrol engine to work with the motor to enable a combined 565mpg – yes you read that correctly!
