Back in 2003, the Mk1 took the world by storm with a scorching version of the humdrum 3dr Focus, but this time with a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine producing 212bhp delivered to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox.
A limited-slip differential and clever suspension geometry helped cope with putting that power through the front wheels, but the RS was a rowdy yet rewarding drive.
With wider arches, an aggressive front bumper and a set of rally-inspired 18-inch 5-spoke alloys, the Ford Focus RS Mk1 looks the part. Even the interior got a makeover, with a bespoke steering wheel and blue-trimmed Sparco racing seats.
