No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you – this is the smaller sporting estate car in Audi’s lineup, but it’s now called the S5 Avant instead of the S4 (that’s going to be a new EV model).
So, it’s all-new on a new platform, but the recipe is very much the same. Sleek, understated looks with a powerful engine and next-level interior. So the new looks are very much like the older S4, just brought forward into the modern era with large side intakes, a slightly smaller main grille, swollen wheelarches and a less cluttered look. The rear is particularly neat, with a full-width light bar and the return of quad (real) exhaust tips.
Power has thankfully ditched the diesel engine of the S4, and now has a twin turbo 3.0 litre V6 producing 362bhp and 550Nm of torque, enough for a 0-62mph sprint in just 4.5 seconds.
The new interior has taken things to another level, with a large skateboard screen that stretches from driver to the centre infotainment, while there’s even the option of a passenger screen that can show video that the driver can’t see!
