An Essex man was left "flabbergasted" when he found out over a supermarket tannoy that he had won a £65,000 sports car. Supermarket manager Stuart Dickinson from Witham bagged a limited edition Lotus Emira following a competition.
The car was given out by Youtuber Tim "Shmee" Burton in a BOTB competition. When 54-year-old Stuart was called to the front desk of the shop, BOTB presenter Christian Williams was there to surprise him with the news he had won the car, which was parked outside.
“I entered this competition last minute, which just goes to show that anyone can win, and you’ve got to be in it to win it. For someone like me who never wins anything and has always worked tremendously hard for everything I’ve got, to win something like this is unbelievable and is going to make a huge difference to my life.”
In their competition, BOTB hands over the keys to a stunning dream car each week as well as a lifestyle prize. It also offers people the chance to win a holiday, cash, tech, cars and more in its Instant Wins Competition.
Shmee is a renowned car vlogger and YouTuber who has built a brand around his passion for exotic vehicles, including the Lotus Emira which features a 3.5 litre 400 horsepower supercharged V6 engine.
Despite his love of the car, Stuart said he was undecided over whether to take the stunning motor or the cash alternative. He added: “It's sexy and beautiful, and everything I wanted, but I am a safe kind of guy."
Christian said: “It’s an amazing prize, and it was great fun being able to surprise Stuart the way we did. He could not get over how beautiful his new Lotus was – let alone that it was completely free. He now faces a very difficult decision over whether to choose the car or the cash, but I’m sure he will be happy with either.”
