In just over half a year a couple have bagged a free £95,000 Mercedes and a £125,000 McLaren after each winning a supercar in the same contest.

Lakshmi Thurairatnum took delivery of the gleaming black Mercedes GLE63-S AMG Coupe on Monday this week after entering the Best of the Best (BOTB) supercar competition.

The recruitment director had entered the competition after husband Prash, a practice manager of a health centre, won a red McLaren 540C last year.

Lakshmi Thurairatnum was delivered her £95,000 Mercedes on Monday, complete with £10,000 in cash and free petrol for a year

The couple, of Epsom, Surrey, also both scooped £10,000 in cash - which was hidden in the boot of the respective cars and free petrol for a whole year.

Speaking this week, mother-of-one Lakshmi said she was shocked when she won.

She said: 'I just couldn't believe it. I still don't.

'I was giving our boy a bath when I heard the knock at the door. I was just in a daze.'

She added: 'I couldn't believe how lucky we were to win the McLaren but now someone must be smiling down on us to win another amazing car with BOTB.'

The couple, who are in their 30s, have a one-year-old son called Ruben - who happily sat in the McLaren after it was delivered.

Speaking in October after the win, Prash - who had bought a £16-spot the ball ticket to win the car - said his heart skipped a few beats when he realised he had won the car of his dreams.

Lakshmi said she 'couldn't believe it' when she was contacted by somebody from the Best of the Best supercar competition

He said: 'It's amazing - it's just a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to say you own a dream car.

'We really need a new family car but I have always had crazy cars and now this.

'I have never even seen a McLaren in real life, I don't think I'll ever be able to top this.'

Will Hindmarch, BOTB boss, said: 'This is the best job in the world - surprising someone, somewhere new each week to give people the keys to a dream car is incredibly rewarding.

'But this week's win was somehow even more amazing because to win once is incredible but to win twice is just off the chart. Congrats to both Prash and Lakshmi.'

BOTB give away a car to one lucky winner every week and have handed over the keys to over £17million in supercars.
