A 70-year-old had the surprise of his life when a £60,000 car he won in a competition was delivered to his door.

Bill O’Toole won a Range Rover Sport plus £10,000 in cash after entering a BOTB dream car competition.

The video shows Bill shocked as he receives the prize. He says: “I’m Bill O’Toole, the man who never thought this day would actually happen.

"It proves that if you keep going and keep trying, you can win the car of your dreams. I’ve just won this Range Rover - the most fantastic day of my life so far.”

Bill, a sales consultant from Tyldesley , has been entering the competition for 9 years. He started playing when he worked in duty free at Heathrow Airport and in the last year has upped his game, buying a £7 ticket every week online.

“It seemed like reasonable deal and you get better odds than the lottery. They sent me a text saying I had won a box of champagne but it was a Range Rover. I couldn’t believe it.

“I’ve already got one Range Rove r. It’s my favourite type of car, but it’s a 2006 model and not as nice as this one. I’ll talk to my wife tonight about whether we will keep or sell the new one.

“My daughter and granddaughter are coming over from Australia for Christmas. I haven’t told them yet but I look forward to taking them for a spin.

“This proves that anybody can do it. Just have a go and believe it will happen.”

Dream car competitions company BOTB has a stand at Manchester Airport and there’s a winner every week.
