Surrey builder bags £60k dream car after thinking he'd won cinema tickets {{favouriteCount}}

A Surrey builder has described the moment he won a £60,000 dream car. Trevor Leach was installing a new bathroom, when he received the news.

Trevor, from Camberley, bagged himself a Suzuki Jimny Twisted Edition in online competition specialist BOTB’s weekly Dream Car Competition. But the 62-year-old revealed that he wouldn’t be getting behind the wheel of his new car - as he would be gifting it to his daughter.

“I couldn't believe it when Christian told me what I had won,” he said. “He made my year and I couldn't stop shaking.

“I’m not normally that lucky, and it’s a standing joke at the golf club that I don’t win anything when it comes to competitions. I thought he was going to say I had won some cinema tickets, but am chuffed to bits it’s a new car.”

The Suzuki Jimny Twisted Edition features an i4 Turbo engine, 162bhp and top speed of 100mph. Trevor said he had started playing BOTB to try and win a BMW M2 for himself and the Suzuki for his daughter.

“My daughter has a little Fiesta, which someone drove into the side of, so she needs to change it. We were going to help her buy a Suzuki Jimny, but the fact she has won one has left her over the moon.

“She might have to share it with me now, but I doubt I’ll get a look in,” Trevor added.

Christian said: “It was great fun surprising Trevor, and he was clearly delighted with his prize. It’s certainly better than some cinema tickets! Trevor entered for the Jimny because his daughter wanted one, but we think he might want to keep it for himself now.

“It’s a wicked modified car and when they complete their first few miles in it, they will see how special it is.”
