Surprised and Delighted Islander Phon Siney Wins A £45,000 Car {{favouriteCount}}
A dad-of-four who longed to own an Aston Martin won the supercar the day after putting in an offer on a second hand model. ADVERTISING inRead invented by Teads Hard working Charles Wemyss, 55, whose main run-around is a rather more modest Mini Cooper, paid just £7 for an online ticket in the Best of the Best Win Your Dream Car competition. And the Litre Meter director from North Marston received the shock of his life on Tuesday, when the £100,000 Aston Martin Roadster was delivered to his workplace in School Hill. Mr Wemyss was giving a training session with workers from Singapore when representatives from the competition and Aston Martin burst in and invited him to come outside. And when he stepped into the car park the gleaming blue vehicle was parked up, in a surprise planned with help from his daughter Millie, 23 and wife Tracey. Mr Wemyss, who has worked at his family’s firm Litre Meter for 35 years, said: “This is all completely bizarre, the strangest thing is that we went on Friday to test drive one, on Monday I put in an offer and on Tuesday I won one. This has been my dream car since about 1981 and I can’t really put into words how much this means to me, it’s so exciting. “We will have to go out for a drive to celebrate, we are going to Edinburgh in September so will definitely be driving instead of taking the train now.” Charles Wemyss wins an Aston Martin - pictured here being surprised with his win at his work place at Granborough - Will Hindmarch from botb.com handed over the keys And Mrs Wemyss, who was contacted by the firm on Monday to ask if she would help with the surprise, said how much it means for her husband to win the car. She said: “I think men get to that stage in life where they realise that they have never had their dream car. “I’ve always had the better car over the years for safety reasons because I’ve been taking the kids out and about. “When we put in the offer on the 2008 Aston Martin he knew full well that one day we might have to sell it, I’m so pleased for him and nobody deserves it more.” Charles Wemyss wins an Aston Martin - pictured here being surprised with his win at his work place at Granborough - Will Hindmarch from botb.com handed over the keys As part of his prize Mr Wemyss will also get to tour the Aston Martin factory and see how his car was built.
