Special delivery! Nottingham driving instructor picks up £126k dream car and cash prize bundle {{favouriteCount}}
Nottingham driving instructor Martin Hickey received the surprise of a lifetime when he discovered he won a £126,000 car and cash prize bundle in an online competition.
Martin was woken up to the news that he had bagged himself a Polestar 3 Long Range worth £75,900 in BOTB’s weekly Dream Car Competition.
The prize was revealed in an unforgettable surprise when BOTB presenter Christian Williams showed up at his home pretending to be a delivery driver.
Still in his dressing gown, Martin was stunned when Christian announced him as the winner and unveiled the sleek Polestar 3 Long Range, which was parked nearby.
“To win is just incredible,” he said. “I’m not usually lost for words, but you don’t usually think this day will come.
“It’s overwhelming, and I’m quite emotional.
“I love playing the game and if I forget to play I get quite annoyed with myself. It shows you’ve got to be in it to win it.”
With a 107kWh battery, 483bhp, and a top speed of 130mph, the electric SUV is an eco-friendly powerhouse.
But the surprises didn’t stop there. Christian revealed an additional £50,000 in cash hidden in the boot of the car, which Martin plans to use to support his local football club.
“I’m involved in a local football club which supports a lot of young people and adults throughout the city, and hopefully I can contribute a little bit to them as well,” Martin added.
Christian said: “It’s always such a joy to deliver good news like this. Martin’s reaction was priceless - he was completely overwhelmed, and it’s clear the win means a lot to him.
“It’s great to see his winnings going towards supporting his local community. He’ll definitely have room for plenty of football boots in the Polestar 3!”
Leading car competitions company BOTB hands over the keys to a stunning dream car each week as well as a lifestyle prize.
It also offers people the chance to win a holiday, cash, tech, cars and more in its Instant Wins Competition.
Founded by William Hindmarch in 1999, BOTB has given away £81m-worth of cars so far.
