Shocked new driver scoops a £95,000 Aston Martin as his first car after winning a spot-the-ball competition {{favouriteCount}} Quantity of Likes

A novice driver has taken delivery of a £95,000 Aston Martin -  his first ever car - after winning a spot-the-ball competition.

Fadel Grada only passed his driving test in the summer and has never owned his own car until this week, when he was handed a flash Aston Martin Vantage.

The 43-year-old cardiologist, who normally travels by train, couldn’t believe his eyes when he was told he had won a supercar with a top speed of 205mph that can go from 0-60mph in 3.7 seconds.

Speaking this week, Dr Grada said he had been playing the Best of the Best (BOTB) supercar competition for seven years in the hope it would spur him to pass his driving test.

He said, however, he ‘eventually’ managed to pass his test six months ago - but hadn’t got round to buying himself a car.

The shocked medic was at home in London on Monday waiting for a parcel delivery when BOTB’s Christian Williams - a Virgin Radio DJ - knocked on his door.

Dr Grada couldn’t contain his surprise when he opened his front door to find Mr Williams standing there with the keys to the flash motor, which also had £10,000 in cash in the boot.

Speaking this week, Dr Grada said: “I was expecting a parcel to arrive so you can imagine my shock when I opened the door to see the car.

“I couldn’t believe it. I thought they were joking."

“I only passed my test six months ago and had been looking at cars so this has come at the ideal time for me. It is fantastic.”

BOTB boss Will Hindmarch said: “It’s always special to hand over the keys to someone’s dream car - especially when it’s their first car!

“Most people probably choose something a little more modest when they buy their first vehicle so we hope Fadel enjoys this experience. We wish him well for a lifetime of fabulous motoring.”

Every Monday a supercar is given away, with five judges - including former England and Spurs defender Sol Campbell - choosing the winner in the spot-the-ball competition.

BOTB surprises a winner with a dream car every week and has given away cars worth over £20million since it was founded in 1999.

The supercar competition company has stands in many well-known shopping centres and all of Britain’s major airports - although half of the people who play enter online at www.botb.com
