A Boston man is celebrating after winning his dream car worth £92,000 - and £20,000 in cash.
RAF engineer Matthew Wesley, 33, said he will use his winnings to rearrange his honeymoon, which has been cancelled as a result of the coronavirus.
He is now the owner of an Audi RS6 after winning a spot the ball competition run by Best Of The Best (BOTB).
And that puts him in the same class as Prince Harry, Kimi Raikkonen, Richard Gere and Zlatan Ibrahimovic - who have all reportedly had one as well.
Matthew was given the surprise of his life by BOTB presenter Christian Williams, who called to tell him he was this week’s winner.
“This is an absolute shock,” said the 33-year-old. “I have only been playing BOTB for a couple of weeks after seeing the RS6 on there. It’s my dream car and to win it is just incredible.
“I am a tinkerer, which isn’t surprising given my career.
“I’ve just put the engine to our Mini back together, although the chances are I will be trading that in now I have the RS6."
Matthew will be using the £20,000 to rearrange his cancelled honeymoon with his wife, teacher Emma.
The couple, who were married in 2018, were all set to travel to Florida for a couple of weeks, but the recent pandemic has meant they had to cancel.
He said: "We will be going, it’s just a matter of when.
“What we can do now we have the extra money is look at extending the trip and take in a few extra places. Who knows: we could even hire some American muscle to drive.”
BOTB presenter Christian Williams usually surprises winners across the world every week, but during coronavirus he will be doing the surprises over Facetime, rather than visiting the winners on their doorsteps.
He said: “Making people’s dreams come true is what we are all about, and to be able to deliver Matthew with his absolute dream car, as well as enabling him and Emma to extend their delayed honeymoon, is brilliant.
“I know Matthew is going to love the RS6, and I wish him and Emma all the very best for an amazing time when they are able to go on their trip.”
