A couple who are planning their wedding next year were given an early present after winning a car and cash prize worth nearly £68,000.
Kieran Smith, 31, was over the moon to learn that he had won a BMW, worth nearly £48,000, which had a £20,000 cash prize stashed in the boot – and reduced his fiancee Olivia to tears. The Pinchbeck couple had won the prizes via online competition specialist BOTB and presenter Christian Williams had delivered the good news.
The win has come at the perfect time for the couple who are planning to get married next year in Peterborough. “I honestly thought I was just dropping my fiancee off so she could go away with her friend,” Kieran said. “I was absolutely flabbergasted.
“I’m never lost for words, but I literally didn’t know what to say. It’s definitely a first for me. “I never win anything, so this feels phenomenal.
“We’re getting married next year, so this feels like an early wedding present. The cash also gives us a bit of a safety net.” The BMW X1 M35i features an i4 Turbo engine, 296bhp and top speed of 155mph.
“I love BMWs and this one is certainly more up-to-date than my current one, which is a 2013 model.
“It’s only got two doors as well and I’m at the age where I am struggling to get in and out of it,” added 31-year-old Kieran.
BOTB hands over the keys to a stunning dream car each week as well as a lifestyle prize. Founded by William Hindmarch in 1999, it has given away £64m-worth of cars so far. Christian, who joined the couple in toasting their success with a glass of bubbly, said: “A massive congratulations to Kieran for not only his wedding next year, but also winning this fantastic car and cash prize.
“It is a quick car and is certainly an upgrade on the BMW he currently drives. With a wedding planned for next year, I’m sure the cash will also come in handy and add some extra sparkle to their big day.”
