Daniel Batty (18) from Yaxley, had bought a 15p raffle ticket with online competition company BOTB for a chance to win an iPhone 12 Pro as well as an iPhone Pro Max, the value of which is around £2500.
Daniel was at work at Tesco when he got the call from BOTB presenter Christian Williams to tell him he was the week’s Luxury Lifestyle Competition winner though and almost missed the call.
He later admitted that he had to rush and hide in the toilets as he was in the middle of his shift.
He said: “I couldn’t believe it. I saw Christian calling and I knew I had to take the call, I ran into the toilet to hide!”
“I love Apple and have always had iPhones, I’ve got the iPhone 11 at the moment.
“I played for the bundle because the new designs and features Apple has released are just insane. I can’t wait to use it!”
“I don’t even know which one to keep for myself, they’re both awesome. I definitely need to think about this carefully!”
BOTB hands over the keys to two luxury cars each week as well as a lifestyle prize. Other recent winners have bagged a £15,000 cash, a holiday to Las Vegas and a gaming tech bundle.
The company, listed on the stock market, was founded by William Hindmarch in 1999 and has given away more than £37m-worth of cars so far.
BOTB’s Christian, who surprises winners every week, was thrilled to give Daniel the good news. He added: “I couldn’t believe it when Daniel answered and appeared to be in a toilet - I don’t think that’s happened before.
“He’s played for one of the fantastic prizes in our Luxury Lifestyle Competition and who wouldn’t want one of the new iPhones - the new design is fantastic and the new features are always really cool! Massive congratulations again, Daniel!”
