Mars Bar daft Scots woman scoops £5k cash in competition after sweet treat question {{favouriteCount}}

A Scots woman was left speechless after a Mars Bar helped her scoop £5,000 in hard cash.

Angela Lennox, from Glasgow, bagged the windfall when she was asked to pick out the chocolate bar as part of a random Best of the Best (BOTB) competition.

Angela was asked to identify the sweet treat from a choice of nine options.

And it was never in doubt, as the office manager revealed it's the only chocolate bar she eats.

Angela was at work when BOTB presenter Christian Williams video-called to tell her she was this week’s Luxury Lifestyle Competition winner and had scooped the cash prize.

She laughed: "I don’t know what to say.

"Luckily, the question this week was on chocolate bars and which one out of the pictures was a Mars bar.

"They’re the only chocolate bar I eat, so I knew the answer straight away."

The £5,000 prize would get Angela around 7,500 Mars bars - but she said she’d most likely use the cash on a new car.

She added: "We’ve been saving up for a car for a while so some of it will go to that and I’m sure my partner will have some ideas too."

BOTB hands over the keys to two flash cars each week as well as a lifestyle prize.

Other recent winners have bagged a quad bike, a holiday to Las Vegas and a Harley Davidson.

Christian, who surprises the BOTB winners each week, said: “Massive congratulations to Angela.

"I’m sure the £5,000 will go a long way in choosing her next car - and filling her fridge with Mars chocolate bars! Enjoy!”
