Man who's had a tough few years scoops £20,000 in Black Friday giveaway {{favouriteCount}}

A Loughborough grandad has been left speechless after being named the winner of a £20,000 competition prize. Peter Milton said the news could not have come at a better time after losing his mum to ill-health two months ago.
He described the last few years of his life as difficult after discovering a tumour in his stomach, that is yet to be removed. While doctors have confirmed the tumour as benign, the pandemic meant his surgery has been delayed two years.Peter said winning the £20,000 cash prize from BOTB's Black Friday Giveaway was life-changing. The 52-year-old, who works at Loughborough University as a stores technician, said: "It has definitely changed my life for the better."

“I lost my mum a couple of months ago due to old age and ill-health. I’ve also had grandkids needing operations and I’ve had a few health issues as well. They found a tumour in my stomach two years ago and because of Covid I’m still waiting for it to be removed. Thankfully it seems to be benign."

Commenting on his reaction to the news, he added: “For the first time in my life I was speechless."

Peter has wasted no time in using some of the money to book a holiday after Christmas to Lanzarote with some of his family, including long-term partner Sharon. "We go a couple of times a year - we love the place,” he said.
