A Leicester factory worker is planning a well-deserved family holiday after bagging a £10,000 cash prize. Polya Petrova scooped the prize in the Best of the Best (BOTB) competition.
The 45-year-old was surprised by presenter Sean Hall who surprised her with the news that she was a Friday Fun Competition winner via a video call. Polya answered a question about which bird pictured in a collage, could not fly and the correct answer just happened to be her favourite animal - a penguin.
She had played before but did not believe she would win this big. BOTB competition prizes usually include dream cars, holidays, Rolex watches and cash. And Polya already knows what she wants to do with her prize money.
She said: "I can’t believe this has happened to me. I am so excited. I have played a few times before, but not for this amount of money. It feels amazing to have won.
"Because I am originally from Bulgaria and lived close to Greece, I might go with my family to Greece for one week or more. I would also like to invest some money in studying for something because I want to better myself."
Sean said: "Some of our winners are excited and some are in shock when we tell them the news. With Polya it was a bit of both. You always need a bit of luck in your life and I am so pleased Polya has received some.
"I am sure the money will come in very handy towards paying for her holiday. I hope she has a lovely trip wherever she decides to go."
