LONGTIME PRAGUE EXPAT BAGS £30K MERCEDES IN COMPETITION {{favouriteCount}}
The search for a new car is over for one lucky Prague man who has won a Mercedes A250 AMG Line worth £30,000 thanks to dream car competition, BOTB.
An ecstatic Michael Wheeler was at work when he was surprised by BOTB presenter Christian Williams yesterday (August 20).
"I couldn't believe it," he said. "I was just taken aback when I saw Christian walking towards me with a massive smile to give me the news. It was the biggest win I have ever had."
Originally from Bristol, IT worker Michael, 38, is currently living in the Czechia capital Prague where he works for Hewlett-Packard - but up until now he has been living without a car.
He started playing BOTB - which costs just £2.70 per entry ticket - a couple of months ago as he started the search for a motor to get about in.
"I had decided that I wanted to buy a new car, but I'd never be able to afford something like this," said Michael.
"I was actually introduced to BOTB by my friend and neighbour Adam who has been playing for years. It's quite funny really."
The Mercedes A250 AMG Line can sprint to 62mph from standstill in an impressive just 6.2 seconds.
"I've got a road trip to Greece planned soon so I'm going to take the old girl out then, maybe I'll also take her on the autobahn at some point soon," said Micheal.
The car was not the only win of the day for Michael.
"I was so excited after I found out I won my boss actually gave me the day off," he said.
Christian, who surprises winners weekly all over the world was delighted to present Micheal with his car.
"The car that Micheal has won is incredible and a really nice drive," said Christian.
Since being founded in 1999 by William Hindmarch, BOTB has given away over £29m worth of prizes.
Listed on the stock market, BOTB has a high-profile stand at airports although most people play online at BOTB.com.
