A student from London received the ultimate wake-up call when he discovered he had won a jaw-dropping dream van and cash prize bundle worth a whopping £120,000.
Samuel Asmelash, from Haringey, was in disbelief after winning a Ford MS-RT Transit custom van worth £70,000 in BOTB’s Dream Car Competition.

The 40-year-old was at home when he received a surprise visit from BOTB presenter Christian Williams, who surprised him with the news he was this week’s winner and unveiled the bright-coloured van, which was parked nearby.

“I’m surprised and so happy,” said the father-of-three. “I’ve not won anything like this before, so it feels amazing.”

The hybrid Ford MS-RT Transit van features 222bhp and is renowned for its cutting-edge design, power and reliability.

But Samuel, who is currently studying International Business Management, said he was considering taking the cash alternative.

“I had planned to do a job which was van-related, such as delivering parcels or painting and decorating, so in one way, this would be perfect.

“But I would be afraid to use a brand new van, so I might look at getting myself a slightly older one.

“I’m also looking at buying my own house as well as having some fun times with my friends and children,” added Samuel.

But the surprise didn’t end there for Samuel, as Christian also revealed the van came with £50,000 hidden in the back.

“Wow, that’s cool,” he uttered in amazement, when he saw the cash.

Christian said: “A huge congratulations to Samuel for winning this life-changing prize worth a whopping £130,000.

“Because he had just woken up, I'm not sure it had fully sunk in when we surprised him.

“This is the perfect vehicle and does it all. The whole new design of the van Samuel has won has got a whole new front end and looks fantastic.

“MS-RT knows how to modify vans, so this is the coolest you can get.”

Leading car competitions company BOTB hands over the keys to a stunning dream car each week as well as a lifestyle prize.

It also offers people the chance to win a holiday, cash, tech, cars and more in its Instant Wins Competition.

Founded by William Hindmarch in 1999, BOTB has given away £79m-worth of cars so far.
