A Hampshire dad has won a brand new Audi complete with £50,000 in cash stuffed in the boot. Rik Dewane won the £75,000 supercar through BOTB.
And the 51-year-old was left stunned when presenter Christian Williams turned up outside his Waterlooville home with the new motor. A long-time BOTB player, Rik spent £2 on a ticket to try and win the Audi E-tron Sport 55 Quattro.
The car features a number of futuristic features including mini cameras instead of wing mirrors plus a 3D parking feature. Field engineer Rik was particularly wowed by the car for being electric.
Rik said: “I’ve played BOTB for a year or so and played for all sorts of prizes. I can’t believe it’s the Audi I’ve actually won.
"It’s just a lot more practical for work plus it looks good. You dream of these things don’t you but you don’t expect it to happen."
Rik was also shocked when Christian revealed the cash in the boot. “I don’t believe it,” he laughed. “This is amazing."
He now plans to spend the money on home renovations, as well as buying his 11-year-old son Braydon a new computer. Since being founded in 1999 by William Hindmarch, BOTB has given away over £47m worth of prizes, including supercars, cash and holidays.
BOTB’s Christian, who surprises winners every week, said: “Rik seems like a lovely guy and I was really pleased to be the one to give him such good news. He’s played for a fantastic prize and I’m excited for him to get behind the wheel and go for a spin.”
