Exeter man jokes 'neighbours will hate him' as he bags dream car {{favouriteCount}} Quantity of Likes

Devon man Daniel Powell was busy training at work when he received some life-changing news. Daniel, who works as a draughtsman for a roofing company, won an Audi RS3 Saloon Vorsprung worth £69,650 in BOTB’s Dream Car Competition.

The 37-year-old, who lives in Exeter, was in his office when BOTB presenter Christian Williams burst in to tell him he was this week’s winner and surprise him with the new car, which was parked nearby.

“I was very surprised to see Christian walk in. I recognised his face, but when I saw his cameraman I went into sheer panic and my heart was racing,” he said. “You sign up to these things, buy the tickets, but never actually think it’s going to happen to you. To win feels insane!”

The Audi RS3 Saloon Vorsprung features an i5 engine, 395bhp and top speed of 174mph.

“It’s not everyday you win a car like this,” Daniel said. “I’m one of these people that sees an Audi on the road and am a bit jealous because I have secretly wanted one myself. I would never be able to afford to buy a car like that, so ultimately, it's my dream car.

“I thought I may get behind the wheel of one of these on a track day one day, but not actually own one. All the neighbours are going to hate me when I start this up every morning on the drive.”

Christian said: “A massive congratulations to Daniel for winning this amazing car. I’m sure he didn’t mind me interrupting his work training when he found out he had won. By the looks on some of his colleague’s faces, I think they were a bit jealous.

“Daniel never thought he’d get to drive an RS3, let alone own one, so it shows dreams really do come true. His heart won’t be the only thing racing now!”

Leading car competitions company BOTB hands over the keys to a stunning dream car each week as well as a lifestyle prize. Its win a car competition sees people buy tickets for the car they want to win and then play spot the ball. An independent panel of judges decide who wins.
