Delight for Tralee man as he scoops €7k watch and €10k cash prize in online draw {{favouriteCount}}

Liam Nolan, courtesy of online competition firm BOTB, is now the proud owner of an Omega Moonwatch Professional Chronometer – an item he described as his “dream watch” – which is worth a cool €7,000. Alongside this, Liam also bagged a €10,000 cash prize, truly the icing on top of an already fantastic win.

Speaking after his win, Liam, a watch enthusiast who also works as a safety advisor for Gas Networks Ireland, was happy to reflect on a week to remember:

“That’s my dream watch,” he said.

“It’s the one I knew I could never save enough for because I knew I would have to spend the money on something else. I really love my watches, particularly Omega, and even have my own watch fund.
“Not only does this watch look fantastic, it is the heritage associated with the Moonwatch which I really love. It’s not the kind of watch I will be wearing every day.”

The win came completely out of the blue for Liam (61) when he received a video call from BOTB presenter Christian Williams, who surprised him with the news.

“I’ve been entering competitions with BOTB for a while and it feels unbelievable to have won. You never think it’s going to happen to you, but I’m obviously delighted that it has. This is also the first time I have won anything of note. I’m going to take my wife out to a nice restaurant to celebrate,” he said.

Christian said: “It sounds like Liam has had his eye on this watch for a while, so it was brilliant to be able to surprise him. It is a beautiful watch and I am sure he can’t wait to start wearing it.”
