Dad wins car and cash totalling £70k after neighbour told him to enter competition {{favouriteCount}}

A father-of-three who was encouraged by his neighbour to enter a competition has won a dream car and cash prize totalling £70,000. Lucky Sadrul Chowdhury is now the proud owner of a Honda Civic Type-R worth £50,000 in the BOTB's weekly Dream Car Competition.

The 36-year-old, who works in the pastoral team in a school, was at home getting ready for work when BOTB presenter Christian Williams knocked at his door to deliver the good news. Parked outside his home was the new high-performance hot hatch.

But the surprises didn’t stop there. Christian opened the boot to reveal an extra £20,000 in cash. Sadrul has said that he plans to treat everyone at his school and go on a much-earned holiday.

Sadrul said: “I can’t believe this! It’s going to change my life - not just for me, but for my three kids as well. You can’t go wrong with this car, and when am I going to get another opportunity like this to drive one?

"It’s a nice shape and I like the interior. I’ve seen it in grey and white, so it’s a toss-up between the two.”

Sadrul’s neighbour and childhood friend Marcus encouraged him to enter BOTB, and now he’s over the moon for his friend’s big win. "When I started playing, I told Marcus that one of us would win within a year,” he added.

Christian said: “It’s safe to say, Sadrul was very pleased to see me at his door. In terms of hot hatches, you can’t get much better than a Civic Type-R. The handling is fantastic, and now he gets to spec his dream car.

“With an extra £20,000 in his pocket, a well-earned holiday is definitely on the cards for him and his family this summer.”
