Coventry student scoops brand new Rolex from 50p ticket {{favouriteCount}}
A Coventry student has no excuse for being late anymore after bagging himself a brand-new Rolex watch from a 50p ticket.
Architecture student Anthony Leung has won a £7,750 Rolex GMT-Master II Pepsi in a competition that cost him only 50p to enter.
The 22-year-old entered the weekly draw created by online competition company BOTB but didn't expect to win until he received a video call from BOTB presenter Christian Williams.
Anthony was thrilled and said he's saving the iconic watch to wear at his graduation ceremony.
The GMT-Master II is able to tell the wearer the time in more than one country at once.
He said: "My family are back in Hong Kong so it will be great for me to quickly know what the time is before trying to get in touch with them.
"This is my dream watch. I’ve always wanted one - I can’t believe it’s going to be mine!"
Every week BOTB hands over the keys to two expensive cars as well as a lifestyle prize to lucky winners who have entered their competition.
The company has given away more than £44m-worth of cars so far since being founded in 1999 and other recent winners have scooped cash prizes and a trip to Las Vegas.
BOTB’s Christian, who surprises winners every week, said: "Anthony seems like a lovely guy and I’m super happy for him. The Rolex is an iconic watch. It’s a brilliant prize for any age but especially for students - I’m sure he’ll be the envy of all his classmates. Massive congratulations Anthony!"
