Coventry man breaks down in tears as prize win keeps his dreams of being a Dad alive {{favouriteCount}}
A Coventry man broke down in tears when he found out he won a Ford Mustang Mach 1, along with £35,000 - a sum of money he feels keeps his hopes of becoming a father alive.
Todd Ethersee, 38, a mortgage coordinator, has been with his wife Katherine, 35, for almost 20 years and they are desperate to become parents.
They have been going through IVF treatment but after a number of delays caused by the pandemic the couple are now reaching the stage where they may have to fund any further treatments on their own.
While Todd was delighted with the car, the money was more important as it allows them to carry on treatments and keep their dream of becoming parents alive.
Mr Ethersee said: “It has been heartbreaking and we have been through a lot but we are determined to keep on trying.
"This win certainly takes away some of the stress because we now know we can afford to explore all the options open to us and to keep on trying.
“I’m hoping this wonderful news marks a turning point for us. It’s Katherine’s birthday in August, our wedding anniversary in the same month and our 20th anniversary of getting together on New Year’s Eve so there is lots to be positive about and now we can make sure those occasions are extra special.”
Todd said the couple were hoping to do a road trip to celebrate Catherine’s birthday and their wedding anniversary this summer, adding the Mustang, worth £55,000, was just the car to ensure it was a trip to remember.
The prize was awarded by competitions company BOTB.
