Carpenter 'speechless' after instantly winning super-fast BMW {{favouriteCount}}
Many people dream of winning big on the lottery or a luxury prize in a raffle - and sadly for most of us, those dreams are never realised. But luck was on the side of one young man in Wales, who bagged a brand new car worth £24,000 in an online competition.
Jordan Dorrington, from Pembrey in Carmarthenshire, was left "speechless" after he found out he'd won a BMW X3 M Sport. Car competitions company BOTB, which hands over the keys to a dream car every week, is behind the amazing prize.
The 26-year-old had entered its Instant Wins Competition and said he "couldn't believe it" when he got the news. “It’s the first time I or any of my family have won anything, so we’re all chuffed," Jordan told BOTB presenter Christian Williams.
Jordan can either take the car or accept a cash alternative. And despite the vehicle's powerful engine and spacious interior, he admitted he was considering the latter. “My dad has got a BMW X3, so we could end up with a matching pair if I take the car," he said. “I currently car share with my mum, so if I took the cash we could trade that one in and get a new car."
Christian said: “Based on his reaction when I phoned him, Jordan was clearly in shock at winning this stunning car, and it sounds like he’s still undecided on whether he’s going to choose it over the cash. It’s obviously a difficult decision to make, but whatever he decides to do, I’m sure he's going to enjoy his big win.” As well as gifting participants the likes of Porsches, McLarens and Lamborghinis, BOTB also gives away lifestyle prizes.
It offers people the chance to win money online every week in its Instant Wins Competition. Founded by William Hindmarch in 1999, BOTB first opened at Heathrow Airport. It has given away £69m-worth of cars so far and clocked up its 300,000th winner earlier this year, with winners all over the world.
