BUCKLE UP: Man wins £105,000 McLaren supercar {{favouriteCount}}

A SCOTS businessman has told of his delight at winning a £105,000 supercar after paying just 19p to enter an online prize draw.

David Harkins, 61, was left stunned after being given the keys to a brand new McLaren 570S Spider.

He scooped the prize in the Best of the Best (BOTB) competition where petrol heads enter an online draw to win a luxury vehicle.

The IT firm boss, from Aberdeen, was in the middle of an online business meeting at home when BOTB arrived at his door to tell him he had won.

He said: "I saw the competition online and I thought I would enter and give it a try but never in a million years did I think I would win.

"It's fantastic. This is Christmas all over again.

"I can't believe it, I'm over the moon. I am going to have a lot of fun driving this.

"It's an unbelievable moment that I never thought would happen and the fact that it has makes me overjoyed.

"It's an awesome car and I'm a very, very lucky individual.

"I still can't believe it, I keep thinking someone's going to drive away with it."

David saw an advertising stand for BOTB while travelling through an airport and decided to enter the competition online when he got home.

After test driving the car in the streets around his home, he is now planning to tour the Highlands in it.

The bright orange McLaren 570S Spider has a twin-turbocharged V8 engine, can go from 0-60mph in 3.1 seconds and has a top speed of 204mph.

BOTB presenter Christian Williams, who handed over the keys to the car, said: "Delivering prizes like this is the best part of my job.

"Seeing the reaction of winners like David, knowing we’ve made their dream a reality, is truly special."

BOTB surprises a winner with a dream car every week and has given away cars worth over £20million since it was founded in 1999.
