Brockworth couple 'gobsmacked' as £540,000 villa dreams come true {{favouriteCount}}

A couple from Gloucestershire were 'gobsmacked' after finding out they had won a luxury villa worth £540,000. Andrew, 71, from Brockworth, was in disbelief after finding out he was the lucky winner of BOTB's Luxury Holiday Villa competition.

BOTB, the leading car competitions company, hands over the keys to a stunning dream car each week as well as a lifestyle prize. It also offers people the chance to win a holiday, cash, tech, cars and more in its Instant Wins Competition.

He said: "I don’t really know what’s happening at the moment, and I just don’t know what to say. I’m so chuffed, but I’m gobsmacked."

Andrew, who currently works in a packing job, admitted he had never expected to win.

He said: “I’ve never won anything in my life, so I’m blown away. I saw the advert and thought I would have a go, but never in a million years did I expect to win. It’s going to change our lives.”

The prize is particularly special for Andrew and Anna, who already have a strong connection to Cyprus.

He said: “Me and my partner know Cyprus a lot. She lived there for 16 years and has got family out there, so we go as often as we can to see them.”

With retirement on the horizon, Andrew is already considering how to make the most of his new villa.

He said: “Whilst we’re still in the UK working, we might rent it out as an Airbnb so we get income from it, and then when we retire, we’ll have a choice of continuing to rent it out or living there.”

Anna, who was in on the surprise, had the difficult task of keeping it a secret until the big reveal.
