A Bradford barber who was interrupted at work and told he had won a brand new car worth £40,000 plus an additional £10,000 in cash was so stunned that he thought he was being pranked.
Haydn White, 24 bought a £1.50 ticket from BOTB, an online competitions company, but did not expect to win because he had "only been playing a week or two".
A video, released by BOTB shows Sean Hall, the BOTB presenter showing up at Haydn's workplace and being directed towards him. When Sean tells a shocked Haydn he is not at his shop for a haircut, Haydn responds saying, "You are joking".
Explaining his shock, Haydn said: "“I don’t know what to say. This is life-changing - I just can’t get over it. I’ve only been playing a week or two so when I saw Sean turn up at work I thought it was a joke."
And Haydn revealed that he doesn't currently own a car, so the win is a welcome turn of luck: "I don’t even have a car at the moment so I can’t believe I’ll be driving around in this!"
Upon finding out he had won an additional £10,000, Haydn said: "This is perfect timing. I’ve just bought my first house so the money will go towards doing that up and all the furniture and decor.”
BOTB presenter Sean Hall said: “It was great to be out over Easter weekend surprising this week’s lucky BOTB winners including Haydn. He’s played for an amazing prize and I’m super happy for him.”
