Kofi Antwi received the good news while at work, completely taken aback by his unexpected prize awarded by competition specialist BOTB. Kofi was in disbelief when BOTB presenter Christian Williams called him with the news. The father-of-one, originally from Ghana, said that March was his "lucky month" because he's about to celebrate turning 29.
Kofi said: "I’ve only been playing for about three weeks, so to win is really amazing and I just didn’t expect it.
"I’ve seen the BOTB competitions on Instagram before and usually just scroll through them, but I thought I would start entering and try my luck.
"I'm so glad I did." He added: "I’ve never won anything like this before, and I’m about to turn 29, so this must be my lucky month."
BOTB, known for handing out keys to dream cars, has made it a tradition to also reward a lifestyle prize. Since its establishment by William Hindmarch in 1999, it has doled out £64million worth of cars.
Kofi plans to use his winnings to better his family's living arrangements and take a holiday back to Africa. He said: "Me and my family are currently renting, so we are looking to move from our current place.
"I also plan to invest some of the money.
"I’ve got a friend involved in the property market who has been advising me.
"I’m planning on going back to Ghana on holiday in the summer, so will put some money aside for that as well."
Christian shared his excitement over Kofi's win. He said: "A huge, huge congratulations to Kofi for winning this fantastic cash prize just as he is about to celebrate his birthday.
"Based on his reaction when I phoned him, I don’t think he could quite believe that he had won.
"With plans to move house and invest, it sounds like the money is going to come in very handy."
