Blackburn man's shock after £20,000 BOTB instant win {{favouriteCount}}

A mental health worker was left in shock after he scooped a £20,000 cash prize while preparing a Christmas party for 40 children.

Zuber Yunus said he had popped to his parent's house during a break in the festivity planning and entered an instant win competition with online firm BOTB only to find out he had won the prize.

When BOTB's Christian Williams called to confirm the win, Zuber, of Braeside, said he had been dreaming of the moment he would pick up the phone and the presenter would be on the other end of it.

“My dream was to talk to you one day,” he excitedly told Christian. “ You have no idea, I’m going to tell you now I am a fan.

“I am in shock. I have never won anything, not even musical chairs.”

Zuber explained he worked in mental health in a local community centre and was in the process of setting up a party for 40 children with disabilities.

He had popped out to do some shopping and thought he would go to see his mum and dad during the break when he took a chance in the competition and won the £20,000 prize.

He said he couldn't quite believe his eyes and had to put on his glasses before counting all the zeros on the impressive sum.

“I am going to use the money to clear some outstanding debts which have been playing on my mind and then I can go into the New Year with a clear conscience,” added Zuber who said the cost of living had meant some bills were in arrears.

“My car is falling apart too and this money will help to fix it up so it lasts a little longer.”
