Audi RSQ3 Worth £46K Handed Over to Best of the Best Winner {{favouriteCount}}
The keys to a £46,000 car were handed over to a stunned Camberley man after his name was pulled out in a prize draw.
Leslie Rogerson was surprised to receive a knock at his door from Best of the Best, a company that runs competitions in UK airports to win supercars, before being led round the corner to where a top of the range Audi RSQ3 was parked.
Best of the Best boss William Hindmarch presented Mr Rogerson with the keys to the SUV before being duly drenched in the celebratory bubbly.
What is even more surprising is that the 59-year-old retired IT consultant only won a brand new Mini playing poker four years ago.
“I literally cannot believe it,” he said. “I’ve been playing with Best of the Best for years and often been close but this is just unreal.
“I started playing when I did a lot of travelling for business and always saw them at the airports, but since they’ve been online it’s made it a lot easier to continue playing regularly.
“Maybe I have a lucky streak because I won a Mini a few years ago playing poker but we sold that and bought an MX-5.
"This time there’s no way we’re selling the RSQ3 - it’s a fantastic motor and I can’t wait to take it for a spin.”
As an added bonus, Mr Rogerson also won £10,000 in cash which was stuffed in the glovebox of the luxury sports car.
Since launching in 1999, Best of the Best has handed over the keys to motors worth more than £15m.
Mr Hindmarch said: "Surprising every winner is so important but that means huge amounts of work is done behind the scenes to ensure we get that golden moment.
“Often we enlist the help of partners and work colleagues, all of whom are sworn to secrecy so we can pounce on the lucky ones when they least expect it, usually just 24 hours after the competition has ended.
“Our winners are from all walks of life and all corners of the earth but they all have one thing in common – a love of cars.
"We know Leslie is really going to enjoy this because this SUV has plenty of poke to play with.”
